About
Us
Our Philosophy
Pearson Hinchliffe
Solicitors is one of the leading law firms in the North of England.
Conveniently
located in Oldham, with easy access to the M60 and motorway network,
the practice offers a comprehensive range of high value services
to its clients throughout the UK.
The firm has
grown through merger, acquisition, and the development of talent
from within. Much of our work is generated through referrals and
on-going help and assistance to our regular corporate and private
clients of many years standing.
Progressive
and forward looking, this friendly practice is ever alert to the
changing needs of both our commercial and private clients.
Located in extensively
refurbished premises we have invested in IT systems designed to
meet the demands of our clients in a cost-effective and efficient
manner.
Our clients
matter and their needs come first. At the core of our service is
a commitment to provide the highest quality of professional advice
and expertise delivered on time with clearly stated and competitive
rates.
In this ever-changing
world we keep ourselves up to the minute with legislative changes
that can impact upon our clients, informing and recommending the
best course of action as appropriate.
With reliable
systems in place the firm operates its "keep you posted"
policy. Correspondence is normally dealt within 48 hours; progress
is carefully monitored and regular updates provided.
| Pearson
Hinchliffe has recently been awarded the Law Society's Lexcel
Qualification for practice management standards and Investors
in People. |

Listed with
the Legal 500, the practice has 10 partners, supported by 4 Assistant
Solicitors. In total we employ over 50 staff. Large enough to field
the teams and expertise you need and small enough to provide a level
of personal commitment and involvement in each client's affairs;
often lacking in the larger practice.
Community
Service
We have
a long and proud tradition of being closely involved with the communities
that we serve. We provide sponsorship, support, skills and genuine
care to specialist groups, schools and charities active in and around
the Oldham area.
Below are listed
the organisations and projects with which the firm is associated
through participation and pro bono work.
A little
bit of history
We can proudly trace our roots back to 1874 when Charles Clegg
founded the original practice. He was succeeded by Arthur Slater
and Sam Pearson and to this day the Pearson name is integral to
the practice. John Pearson is the Senior Partner as was his
father and grandfather before him.
Hinchliffes
was founded in 1982 and following a major period of growth and expansion
the firms merged in 1999 to form Pearson Hinchliffe Solicitors.
| The Practice
is conveniently located in Albion House, 31 Queen Street,
Oldham, at the heart of the town's developing conservation area.
Dating back to 1878, Albion House started its life as a 'Gentlemen's
Club', it has then been variously used as offices, restaurants
and a night-club! Refurbishment commenced in 2000. |
 |
From the outset
the partners of Pearson Hinchliffe Solicitors were keen to both
sympathetically develop the building whilst ensuring the installation
of up to the minute technical support systems required to meet the
needs of this modern practice. The final result - delightful and
welcoming architectural features and spaces in harmony with integrated
communications systems.
